1. Shutdowns (Critical Maintenance)

  • Southern Aurora Contracting (SAC) has an experienced crew who understand the meaning of critical shutdown dates. The senior employees have worked with crews on shutdowns throughout Australia, at sites such as Olympic Dam, Nickel Smelter at Kalgoolie and many others.
  • SAC senior management team have been involved with the site project crew to plan and programmed critical path shutdowns.
  • SAC has available specialist fibreglass employees capable of critical/emergency shut downs.
  • SAC has provided supervision of work forces on priority shut downs.

2. Through life maintenance programmes

  1. SAC has over recent years (in particular after the Sale Gas pipeline explosion in Victoria, the Victorian Government directed all Victorian Industry to establish and monitor a risk assessment of all their Plant and Equipment), has worked to included the fibreglass pipe and fittings, tanks and process vessels and concrete bunds into a regular maintenance programme.
  2. SAC Director John Fraser-Easton, together with the Maintenance management team from Australian Paper at Maryvale, Victoria assembled an assets register of all the Fibreglass on site. A regular inspection process was commenced with the most vulnerable components high on the inspection programme.

3. Procurement of replacement fibreglass components for pie systems and vessels

  1. With recent excellent relationships with both local and overseas suppliers, SAC is in a good position to source all the necessary components of fibreglass pipe and fittings, tanks, process vessels (air pollution control equipment), duct, walkway grating and commercial fibreglass engineered sections (square, rectangle, channels, angles, solid rod, threaded rod and “I” beams)

4. Regular programme and reporting of maintenance

  1. SAC has experience personnel to overview the requirements of programming the site maintenance, and then reporting on the progress to the site management.
