Piping Solutions
We have recently completed the installation of the pipe and fittings for the Waste Water Treatment Project in Mackay North Queensland. This project required SAC to assemble some of the spools off site, from pipe and fittings supplied from overseas, and then incorporate them into the newly built treatment plant. We also carried out the joining of a 6 kilometer DN650 GRP out fall line. The whole project ran for approximately 12 months. At same time as the Mackay site was running, we supplied an experienced fibreglass work force to the Gold Coast Desalination project. As the project got into full swing, our work force reached 66 employees – 20 off site carrying out spool assembly and the balance on site. SAC was responsible for the receiving of the components into the lay down yard (approximately 10,000 components) and tracking these components to spools and then onto the site. SAC controlled the Quality documentation for all the spooling and site installation of the GRP spools. All individual joints (20,000) were traced with their specific document and recorded back onto the site isometrics. These records included resin batch numbers, glass layup sequence and laminate cure levels. Our client also requested the finishing of the 17 Cartridge Vessels. This work included some very fine engineering tolerances normally not seen in Fibreglass Vessels. Piping Solutions Summary
